Although this year’s SXSW Film Festival never happened, one of the most buzzed-about movies in its lineup was Amy Seimetz’s genre-blender SHE DIES TOMORROW, and now it has been snapped up for release.

Neon has announced that it has grabbed worldwide rights to SHE DIES TOMORROW, with release plans to be announced at a later date. Seimetz, who first established herself as an actress, with genre credits including BITTER FEAST, A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE, YOU’RE NEXT, THE SACRAMENT, ALIEN: COVENANT, PET SEMATARY and STRANGER THINGS, wrote and directed TOMORROW, which stars Kate Lyn Sheil (also from SACRAMENT and YOU’RE NEXT), Jane Adams, Kentucker Audley, Katie Aselton, Chris Messina, Tunde Adebimpe, Jennifer Kim, Josh Lucas and YOU’RE NEXT director Adam Wingard. According to the official synopsis, Sheil plays Amy, “a woman ravaged by the notion that she is going to die tomorrow which sends her down a dizzying emotional spiral. When Amy’s skeptical friend Jane [Adams] discovers Amy’s feeling of imminent death to be contagious, they both begin bizarre journeys through what might be the last day of their lives. In equal measures a genre film, a dark comedy, and surrealist mind trip, SHE DIES TOMORROW defies definition.”

In a statement, Neon says, “Amy Seimetz is a bold new voice and with the groundbreaking SHE DIES TOMORROW has easily created one of the most prescient films of the decade.  We’re thrilled to be able to bring this unique and incredible SXSW premiere to audiences all around the world.”
